The Material Calculator is a no-login tool on the MASCI platform that estimates quantities for common materials — concrete (yards), gravel (tons), asphalt (tons), pipe trench backfill, and similar. It's a ball-park: useful for ordering and double-checking, NOT a substitute for engineered drawings.

- Enter the dimensions (length × width × depth, or whatever the tool asks)
- Check the calculated quantity
- Compare to your plan or the supervisor's number — if they don't agree, ask before ordering
Why this mattersOver-ordering material wastes money; under-ordering stops the crew. The calculator catches obvious errors before the truck shows up. A 30-second check is cheaper than half a day of waiting.
Common mistakes
- Mixing units (feet vs inches, yards vs tons) — read the labels carefully
