QA/QC for Field Crews

Quality checks while you work — photos, measurements, sign-offs.

QA/QC means Quality Assurance / Quality Control. In the field, it's the records you create that prove the work was done to spec — photos of rebar before pour, dimensions, materials used, sign-offs at each stage.

  • Photo BEFORE you cover it (concrete pour, backfill, sheetrock, etc.)
  • Photo AFTER if condition matters
  • Record measurements / counts when asked — guesses don't help anybody
  • Note who inspected and when, if you're the one doing it
Why this mattersQA/QC documentation protects the project. If the owner or inspector ever asks 'is this to spec?', the answer is whatever the photos and records say. Good records = no rework arguments. Missing records = rework or worse.
Do not pour, cover, or close out work that was supposed to be inspected first. Wait for the sign-off, or capture the inspection record on the spot.
