Field Leadership — First Week

What a new Superintendent or Foreman does in their first week on MASCI.

Welcome to Field Leadership. This portal is the daily operations surface for Superintendents, Foremen, Field Leaders, and Operations Oversight. Here is what to do your first week.

Which door do I use? Two valid doors exist. The operational one — where your Daily Reports, write-ups, equipment sign-outs, and crew evaluations live — is /field-leadership/portal/login (your per-user company email + password, issued by HR or Admin). The legacy shared-password door at /field-leadership/login is read-only for crew documents. If HR or Admin has given you a per-user account, that is the door you use day-to-day.
  1. Day 1 — Find out which door HR/Admin set you up with. If you have a per-user account, sign in at /field-leadership/portal/login with your company email and the temporary password you were issued; the portal will force you to change it on first sign-in. If you only have the shared crew password, the office can issue you a per-user account in a few minutes.
  2. Day 1 — Read the 'What does Field Leadership do?' article (linked at the bottom of the login page).
  3. Day 2 — Submit your first Daily Report on the actual job (not a test). Photos. Crews. Hours. Conditions.
  4. Day 2-3 — Walk the lifecycle of one equipment Pre-Op from operator → shop → back to field. Understand what your sign-off triggers.
  5. Day 3-4 — Issue one piece of PPE / equipment using Equipment Checkout. The record is the proof.
  6. Day 4-5 — Run a Safety Meeting and submit the attendance form.
  7. End of Week 1 — If you have any documentation event (verbal coaching, write-up, recognition), enter it the same day. Late documentation is weaker documentation.
Why this mattersField Leadership is the most operationally connected portal in MASCI — your Daily Reports feed payroll (HR), your write-ups feed accountability (HR + Safety), your equipment sign-outs feed Shop + Dispatch, and your project notes feed PM. The first week is about understanding that everything you document touches another team. Get the rhythm right and the rest of the platform works around you.
Add the per-user portal to your phone home screen on Day 1. Almost every Field Leadership task is done on a phone in the field — installing the shortcut early saves you 5-10 taps per submission for the rest of your career here.
Your per-user portal password is yours alone — not the crew's. Every action you submit is signed in your name in the audit trail. Don't text the password to a foreman or share it 'just so they can pull a report.' If a teammate needs access, that's an HR/Admin account-issuance conversation, not a password-sharing workaround.
